Ingredients
  • 1lb bulk Italian sausage
  • 1lb ground beef
  • 1med green pepper, chopped
  • 1med onion, chopped
  • 8cloves garlic, minced
  • 314½ oz. cans Italian diced tomatoes, drained
  • 215 oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 26 oz. cans tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 1tablespoon dried basil
  • 2teaspoons dried marjoram
  • 1teaspoon salt
  • ½teaspoon pepper
Instructions
  1. In large skillet, over medium heat, cook sausage and beef until no longer pink. Drain.
  2. Transfer to a 5-quart slow cooker.
  3. Stir in green pepper, onion, garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, paste, sugar and seasonings. Mix well.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours.
Recipe Notes

This sauce also tastes great after it has been frozen and reheated.  Eat half of it now, and freeze the remaining portion for later!
