Ingredients
  • 1pound ground beef
  • 1 chopped green pepper
  • 1 medium chopped onion
  • 2 chopped garlic cloves
  • 2 cans dark red kidney beans15 oz. each
  • 2 cans tomatoesdiced, 16 oz. each
  • 2 cans tomato sauce8 oz. each
  • 2 – 3teaspoons chili powder
  • 2teaspoons salt
  • 1 bay leaf
Instructions
  1. Cook ground beef, onion, green pepper and garlic until meat is browned – about five minutes.
  2. Drain fat.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
  5. Remove bay leaf before serving.
Recipe Notes

Some optional classic toppings are grated cheddar cheese, crushed corn chips, hot sauce, sour cream and/or crumbled bacon. Yum!
