Mystical Witches’ Tablescape

Halloween | Mystical Witches' Tablescape

This Mystical Witches’ Tablescape is perfect for a night of spooky treats and devilicious delights!  This year I decided to go with a traditional black and orange theme, with a little white mixed in.  I gathered up a ceramic pumpkin or two, some colorful leaves, and anything else that would contribute to our ghoulish table setting.  My goal was to have it colorful, whimsical, and a little spooky.  To help make it mystical, I used my Fostoria glass and added some lit candles!

Make the most of your tabletop setting by layering elements with a common theme.  On this mystical witches’ table, a group of gold and amber glasses sets a mood that is heartily echoed by all the other colors on the table.  The gold and amber glasses are from the Whitehall pattern.

The beautiful clear crystal Goblets, with the hex foot, are from the Fostoria American pattern.  These are some of my most favorite pieces of glassware, for they reflect the light beautifully.  Their many facets of glass will reflect whatever color is around them with amazing luster and shine.  The Whitehall glasses have a vibrant hue, and I purposely paired them with the American Goblets and the candles.  This trio really works well together, and makes the table come to life with a soft autumn glow.

I alternated the colors of the napkins with each place setting.  The two colors that were used were gold and orange.  The plate chargers were also a burnt orange color.

In order to keep the tablescape from appearing too formal or too spooky, I added little whimsical elements throughout.  The placement of a little black picture frame – displaying a skeleton shape – was tucked in the center of the table.  I merely printed a graphic from my computer, cut it out, and attached it with scotch tape to the frame.  After the holiday, it comes off easily!

The next step was to gather some colorful pumpkins and scatter them about.  They do not need to be ceramic; however, I chose to use them as I liked the way the pottery glistened against all the glassware – especially the centerpiece.  Little tiny gourds, colorful leaves, and other autumn berries were used as the base for the table centerpiece.  All of these items were placed on a glass torte plate, supported by a wooden turntable.  The turntable centerpiece works extremely well, as meal condiments (including candy corn and ghoulish nibbles) can easily be turned and served to all dinner guests.

Halloween | Mystical Witches' Tablescape | Hat Centerpiece

For the main centerpiece, I used a Fostoria American Flared Vase and topped it with a witches’ hat.  It reigns supreme, and looks absolutely stunning.  All your friendly spirits will be howlin’ at the moon over this final touch!  I put a small light in the center of the vase … and when the darkness of the night starts to fill the room, it is a mystical sight.  With a few strands of light bellowing from behind, and the light of the candles glowing on the table, it provides a frightfully festive table for you and yours.

I also added a black sequined pumpkin (with a spider on top) and scattered a couple of solid black bowls around the vase.

Another fun idea for your frightful night is to serve Halloween Eyeball Ice Cubes!  These eerie cubes of ice will chill the toxic drinks of your guests in no time.  They are not scary and creepy at all, but will definitely gather the attention of all witches, ghosts and goblins.  They are so easy to make, and can be done in mere minutes.  Healthy too, for the ice cubes are made with seedless grapes!

Now is the time of year to gather your ghoulfriends for a mystical witches’ party, enchanting them with your delicious treats and spooktacular decorations.  From our house to yours, we wish you the best Halloween ever, full of wholesome and frightfully good times!
